Our Promise

At American Built Communities, we’re dedicated to making home ownership accessible to everyone, especially those in underserved segments of our community. With a commitment to hard work and service and a wealth of expertise in real estate, finance, construction, and development, we strive to create worry-free, affordable homes with environmentally friendly and storm-resistant materials. At American Built Communities, we’re not just building houses; we’re building a better future.

We are a force of positive change in the lives of those in need

At American Built Communities, we are more than just a housing nonprofit – we are a force for positive change in the lives of those in need. Founded by Jeff Flick in 2013 and with over four decades of experience spanning various aspects of the real estate industry, we have a deep commitment to serving our community by creating affordable, accessible homeownership opportunities.

It was during the challenging times of the 2008 financial crisis that Mr. Flick’s dedication to housing support truly emerged. He founded a $200 million distressed real estate fund, focusing on acquiring defaulted whole loans to make a difference in the lives of low to moderate-income borrowers.

The Housing League was started in 1998 by Mr. Flick’s father, Jerry Flick. Jeff effectively took over management in 2009.

Over the next decade, Mr. Flick grew the company which helped more than 600 LTMI families realize the American Dream of owning their own home. Over the years, he has purchased, rehabbed, and sold over 600 properties below market value to low to moderate-income families, making homeownership dreams a reality.

As the President of American Built Communities, Mr. Flick continues his mission by developing alternative strategies to acquire inventory and forging valuable relationships and opportunities with organizations like HUD. These partnerships helped acquire and rehabilitate housing to meet the needs of low to moderate-income homebuyers.

Our Approach

At American Built Communities, we are not just constructing houses; we are laying the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. Our innovative, future-focused approach ensures that every home we build is more than a structure; it’s a step toward a better future. We combine innovation, safety, and sustainability in our designs and construction, emphasizing environmentally friendly and storm-resistant materials because we recognize that a home is more than a physical space; it’s a vessel for dreams, an anchor for communities.

Our advanced engineering methods, quality materials, and energy-saving designs create homes that are not just for today, but for the future. From green construction and energy-efficient lighting to impact windows and solid wood kitchen cabinets, we pay meticulous attention to detail. Those we serve enjoy significant savings without compromising on quality, comfort, or peace of mind. Our homes are designed to offer lower maintenance, reduced insurance premiums, and lower energy costs for many years to come.

American Built Communities isn’t just about providing shelter; it’s about creating a better future for all. Our structures are engineered to exceed building codes and standards, ensuring that wherever they stand, they stand strong. We are dedicated to being kind to both the planet and your pocketbook, and that’s a promise we deliver on every day.
